Last Days of Autumn Brewing – Knoxville

Last Days of Autumn Storefront

Where is Last Days of Autumn Brewing?

This brewery is just northeast of Old City, along E. Magnolia. They have their own parking lot for you.

When is it open?

Last Days  of Autumn is open Sunday 1p-8p, Closed Monday, Tuesday though Thursday 4p-10p, Friday 4p-11p, and Saturday 1p-11p. Keep up with their upcoming events on their Facebook, Instagram @lastdaysofautumnbrewing, or lastdaysofautumn.com.

So, how's the beer?

This place has our favorite summer beer in Knoxville (so far) in the Pineapple Radler, a light ale brewed with pineapple juice. It is crazy refreshing, and low enough ABV to keep you on your feet all day.

Beyond that, they have a large variety that rotates throughout the year. Right now, I would say that about half the menu contains hoppy beers, including several IPA styles and even a Belgian finished on Citra and Mosaic hops (looking at you, Chamhopnay).

They do have something for everyone. Just looking for a beer that “tastes like beer” for the friend that prefers Bud Light? Up their game by introducing them to Clean Shirts Cream Ale. Want something on the dark and roasty end of the spectrum? Try the Mexican Stout. They even have sour styles that appear now and again. Be sure to check out what is currently special on tap – I’ve even found a barrel-aged beer here before.

What about food?

Folks, if you were to stumble across Last Days of Autumn’s Instagram, you would probably think they were a restaurant and not a brewery. They take brewery eating to a whole new level. They really, really seem to like smoking meats, and they have weekly specials to boot. Do NOT look at their pictures if you’re hungry – you might just drool everywhere.

You can get food every day, but they are big on having food specials on certain days. They’ve done Philly cheesesteaks, reubens, shrimp boils, smoked bologna and pulled pork, and ribs, to name a few.

They regularly have Taco Tuesday, Coney Wednesday, Ribs Thursday, and Shrimp Boil Fridays (with corn and red potatoes). Let me take a minute to talk about the rib deal Thursdays: You can get 8 bones, 2 sides, and cornbread for $10. That’s probably the best deal we’ve ever seen at a brewery.

The food that they cook only occasionally looks equally appetizing (or even more): pork belly burnt ends, shrimp or smoked sausage po boys, and tons of wings for UT gamedays, which they show on multiple TVs. Be sure to bring your appetite with you.

You can get their food delivered too!

What's the space like?

Very chilled out, the kind of place you could come to equally after a day paddling on the river or a casual date night. Walk right up to the counter and grab a beer and order some grub. Seating inside for about 15 or so when we visited, but as we open things back up from covid restrictions, it may increase.

They have a large patio out back with room for around 50 people (at least at the time of our visit). It gets plenty of sun, but just about every table has a large umbrella for shade.

Framed retro art adorns the walls, and they even have a board game section up front if you want to get “into it” with some friends.

Our Experience

We stopped by on a scorching summer day, and again I can not speak highly enough of the pineapple radler to quench your thirst. They have also done other radlers, incorporating other fruits. We just hung out and decompressed from a day spent running around outdoors. Based on the beers we’ve had and the looks of all the food (though we haven’t tried everything), this brewery is top of the list in Knoxville.
