Westgate Farmers Market is a producer-only market, meaning the ones manning the booths are the ones doing the growing. Their mission is to make local, healthy produce accessible to the community.
As such, they also accept EBT and SNAP benefits (up to a $25 dollar-for-dollar match), and are part of the Produce Perks program. See them at the Westgate Farmers Market info tent for details, or call (614)500-3386.
Where is it?
On the front lawn of the Westgate Masonic Lodge, this farmers market is perfectly situated for those on the west side, including the Hilltop community. It is bookended by local coffee shops: if you hit Third Way Cafe to the West, you’ve gone too far. Likewise, if you end up in Franklinton looking at Bottoms Up Coffee Co-op to the east, you’ve missed the mark.
In either case though, you might want to stop and check those out!
Transportation
If you’re looking for a parking spot, don’t worry. The parking lot at the West Gate Masonic Lodge has plenty of spaces, in our experience.
Those taking the bus, you want to catch the #10 COTA line and get off at the West Broad and Haldy Ave stop.
When is the Westgate Farmers Market?
The market is set up every first and third Saturday of the month, June through October. Additionally, they usually hold a Thanksgiving market around the holiday. They are open rain or shine, unless it is truly severe weather.
What you need to know about visiting:
The Westgate Farmers Market is a non-smoking market.
Can you bring your dog? Of course! just be sure to have them on a short leash and clean up after them (don’t be that guy).
The vendors do accept credit cards and most (if not all) accept cash.
Who is going to be there?
The list of vendors is posted for each farmers market – check them out @westgatefarmersmarket on Instagram.
In addition to local meat, produce, and organic options, they also host food trucks and coffee to satisfy you as you shop. They are sponsored by Explorer’s Club, Broke Johnny, and Pitabilities food trucks, and Bottoms Up coffee.
