Where is Wolf's Ridge?
Wolf’s Ridge is located on 4th street in Downtown Columbus, between Jackie O’s Columbus taproom and the Central Ohio Fire Museum (the cool-looking early 1900’s engine house). You’ll have no trouble finding parking, with lots all around the area, but you’ll probably have to pay.
When is it open?
As of June 2021, Wolf’s Ridge is transitioning back into full occupancy service! What that means for the taproom is this: they are open Thursday 11:30a – 11p, Friday 11:30a – 12a, Saturday 12p-12a, and Sunday 12p – 11p. The kitchen closes an hour before the bar, so be sure to get those food orders in early!
Note that the above are taproom hours, and are different than the regular restaurant. The dining room is open Thursday through Saturday 5p-10p (bar open until 11p) for dinner, and weekend brunch is on Saturday and Sunday from 10a – 3p. We recommend reservations for either of those options, but they do try to take walk-ins.
They also have carry out and delivery service. It closes an hour and a half before the taproom closes, but it is open at 10a on Saturday and Sunday (for those who want to get their brunch-at-home on).
To stay up to date with the taproom and check out the restaurant (maybe make some reservations), check their website or Instagram (@wolfsridgebrewing). Heads up – they have a patio so you can enjoy the weather!
The Menu - What Are They Known For?
If you haven’t been to Wolf’s Ridge, you might not know of the plethora of food and beverage options you have here. Not only is the taproom a great place to grab beer and and bite, but the front of the brewery is a classy restaurant. While we prefer the taproom and beer vibes, we wanted to mention the delicious eats from the kitchen here. As beer goes, Wolf’s Ridge has an impressive selection: hefeweizen to weisse beers, cream ales that look light but taste like coffee to barrel aged stouts that will put some hair on your chest, and of course IPAs.
I could go through the whole delicious menu here, but you don’t have time to read all those options. Suffice it to say they have tasty full plates like duck breast to sumptuous sandwiches and even brunch 10a-3p on the weekend. They have vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free options.
What's the space like?
Wolf’s Ridge has an aesthetic that screams “taproom” – exposed, whitewashed brick wall and exposed beams/duct work give it a down-to-earth feel. Plenty of taps are well displayed behind the bar seating, and long tables suitable for a whole group of your friends dominate the rest of the taproom. If you’re a little more reserved type, you might be able to snag a sunny window seat.
Our Experience
We have been here many times, but many of these pictures were from a COVID-era visit. I walked right up without preordering, and everything went smoothly – they had a list of what they have available ready to go, with a checkout table placed in the doorway of the normal taproom entrance. While I didn’t snag any food this time, I did carry out a 4 pack of tallboys of their recently canned Creamsicle.
I don’t normally look out for that style of beer, but I’ve come to trust that Wolf’s Ridge definitely knows what they are doing around cream ale style beers. For those wondering what the Creamsicle is like, don’t worry about it being sweet – it is a regular, balanced beer that is dominated by a punch of orange flavor. If anything, I might have wanted the vanilla to present a little more, but why mess with a good thing?

Looking to sample more brews? Try Elevator Brewing Co’s Taproom just a couple doors down – UPDATE: Sadly, that taproom is closed. You can still check out “what was” by going to that article, or you can check out Elevator’s downtown draught haus. Not sadly, that space is now Jackie O’s Columbus, so go on down there anyway!
