This one is a little different from other “brewery” posts on Brews & To-Dos. While technically not a brewing facility itself, the Outpost is a essentially a small concessions building from Yee-Haw Brewing.
There’s a lot of love for Yee-Haw in Knoxville, and if you’ve been following the news, they are even operating their first Knoxville brewing facility right now on the site of the former Elkmont Exchange brewery. They have plans to open the customer side of the bar and restaurant in Spring 2022. Keep up with them @yeehaw_knoxville on Instagram or yeehawbrewing.com.
Where is The Outpost?
This beer shed is right beside Mead’s Quarry Lake at Ijams Nature Center. This is directly next door to where you can rent paddleboards and kayaks.
Talk about a fantastic location: you can have fun on the water, on the mountain bike trails, or just hiking around Ijams and stop by the beer garden for refreshment. Of course, this helps support Ijams too!
When is it open?
This little shack is only open seasonally in the warmer weather. When it is open, hours are typically noon – 7p Friday, and 11a – 7p Saturdays and Sundays.
What do they have?
The Outpost not only has 4 typically 4 different Yee-Haw beers, but also White Claw, soda, gatorade, and small snacks, so feel free to stop by with the whole family.
